Super Mario Maker released for the Wii U in 2015, with Miis representing all users who made each level. However, no non-user Mii data files were in the game. Over the next few weeks after the game's release, though, official courses would be uploaded by various characters who replace the typical user Mii head icon with unique artwork of that character. Despite this, these official courses do have Mii data attached to them, with unique Miis for each user. The Mii data is simply never shown in-game as unique artwork is shown instead of the Mii head. The game would later gain a sequel on the Nintendo Switch, properly featuring an official user Mii in-game.
