The Mii Maker on Wii U is the preinstalled application used to create and edit Mii characters on a Wii U system. Upon booting it up for the first time (which happens automatically during first-time setup on a Wii U) six Miis stand in place to demonstrate some of the different Miis that users can make. These six Miis are the same as the six shown on the app icon, and also appear as default Miis on the Home Menu banner for the Mii Maker on 3DS. After being shown during first-time setup, these Miis can no longer be seen again on the same system (unless a factory reset is performed), so it is easy for even Wii U owners to miss or forget about them.
