December 2007 saw the release of both Wii Fit and the launch of arguably the best gaming controller, the Wii Balance Board. While the Wii Balance Board would go on to be used by many games, this was its debut. Wii Fit included the 60 Miis from Wii Sports to appear as background characters in certain modes, but strangely, it seems Saburo (Wii) is not present. In his place is a duplicate of Hiroshi. This was clearly a mistake, as the missing Saburo was corrected in Wii Fit Plus, which released a year later and contains all the content in Wii Fit, and more. Along with the 60 from Wii Sports is 5 new Miis, making 65 in total. In April 2024, a ROM for Wii Fit: Trial Edition surfaced, a promotional demo based on the Japanese version of Wii Fit. The build date for this version of the game is almost a year after the build date for the initial revision of Wii Fit (JPN), and the Mii data files inside are identical to the release version's.
