The J-pop band AKB48 gets their own 3DS title, where you can insert yourself into their story! ...If your Mii is female, that is, as male Miis are not allowed to be selected when choosing your player's Mii, making this game one of the few games that don't just have gender-locked accessories or content, but putting the entire GAME behind a gender-lock. Strange. AKB48+Me released in October 2012, only in Japan. As they are a J-pop group singing Japanese, it seems no interest was shown in localizing the game anywhere outside of Japan, which is understandable. The game features hundreds of unique Miis, both of the band members and unique characters made specifically for this game. Currently, I have not done much research into the game other than poking around the files and knowing that it is a rhythm game, but I plan to do an extensive deep dive into the game to understand it and the roles that Miis play. As for when I'll have the motivation to actually do that, well...
